Ranulf Rayner won the art prize at Eton College before following a career which took him all over the world. During this time he wrote several coffee table books, including ‘The Story of Yachting’, and ‘The Story of the America’s Cup’, illustrated entirely by paintings and drawings, with the best plates also offered as prints.
At his Ashcombe studio he continues to paint yachts, seascapes, ‘Blue Planet’, sea birds and landscapes using his own innovative technique of applying resins onto aluminium – thus creating lasting
and translucent images.
He has exhibited his paintings and prints both in London and America, selling many on behalf of his own pet charity The Trinity Sailing Foundation, Brixham.
