At the heart of Louise Plant’s sculpture is movement. Single, static, solid objects are vehicles for holding time, moment by moment. Spaces, light and shadow, and material are equally important.
In 2000, Louise received the Artist of the Year Award from the Arts Council of England, the Brian Mercer Marble Scholarship in 2007 and in 2014, the Swedish KKV Bohuslän Scholarship. Louise was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Sculptors in 2014. She has served on the Council of the Royal Society of Sculptors and as a selection panel member for the bronze and marble Brian Mercer Scholarships. Her studio is in Devon.
Louise’s work is found throughout the UK, in Pune, India, in Volterra, Italy, in Bangkok, Thailand and in numerous private collections.
