A love of detail..
Kirsten is inspired by memories and things, patterns and places; the treasures we collect throughout life and their remembered or imagined histories. Tiny details are observed and imagined, combined and layered within each piece, a story waiting to be read and interpreted by the viewer.
Every piece tells a story and the narrative can be traced through the text, maps, stamps and found fragments.
A full-time Artist, originally trained in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Kirsten has a studio in Henley on Thames and exhibits her work in galleries throughout the U.K.
In addition to her ongoing pieces, Kirsten works on one private commission a year, developing a painting inspired by an individual and their life or a special moment in time.
Works are created gradually on gesso and paper using washes of acrylic and ink over collaged surfaces. Limited edition prints use archival quality inks on Hahnemuhle etching paper.
