Whispering Straits are paintings from the series The Mapping of Memory – childhood recollections of the English landscape form the basis for this work. Entwining topographical detail with elements of abstraction, schematic maps of those mutable spaces between land and water or eroding field margins, question the fragility of personal memory. Fine scribbled lines act as inscriptions on the surface, interrogating the existence of borders and boundaries.
